Amy Plesetz, Field Research Associate
Amy Plesetz (she/her) has been a wildlife biologist for 14 years, graduating from Cal State Long Beach majoring in Biology with an emphasis in Ecology. After college, Amy worked for the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium and the Long Beach Aquarium where she taught kids from all over the greater Los Angeles area about ocean animals, especially invertebrates! Interested in terrestrial species, Amy began learning about birds and started conducting nesting bird surveys in California. After 11 years of nesting bird experience, she started her own consulting company, Flora Y Fauna LLC. Amy started out at the Western Foundation initially as a volunteer; thoroughly enjoying her time assisting with data collection and collections maintenance. Nowadays, Amy also works as an associate for the Western Foundation and spends most of her time along the Santa Clara River working with birds or bats! Amy likes to travel, snowboard, bird watch and go wildlife tracking with her husband and doggy.
